Mario Badescu, the Most Affordable Luxury Body Soaps

by Stephanie McCarthy

One thing I can count on in this awful economy is Mario Badescu’s body washes remaining reasonably priced. They are a high-quality and budget-friendly way to treat yourself. They also make great and affordable birthday and Christmas gifts for your friends and family members. Here are some of my favorites from the brand.

Mario Badescu A. H. A. Botanical Body Soap, 8 ounces, $13.95 at Mario Badescu
Finally, my search was over for a body wash that captured the scent of grapefruit properly, which is a fruity and refreshing smell—and it has a wonderful foam and price point. I consider this to be their main scent and would try this one first out of all of the Mario Badescu body washes that I’m going to discuss.

Mario Badescu Rose Body Soap, 8 ounces, $13.95 at Mario Badescu
Rose is my least favorite scent. It’s too overpowering. However, the price couldn’t be beat. So I bought it. I was confident that I’d hate it and would have to give it away to someone in my small family/friend circle who loved rose. I was sorely mistaken. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite fragrances and body washes and the heavier smell is welcoming with the cooler months being right around the corner. In its body wash format, the scent is less overbearing than it usually is in perfume spray formats. It’s an upper crust yet soothing smell. The color pink usually annoys me, but here, it happens to be a gorgeous translucent pale pink.

Mario Badescu Azulene Body Soap
8 ounces, $13.95 at Mario Badescu
I love the smell of chamomile. It’s so soothing. When it’s done right, it smells like saltwater and it takes me back to a time when my family and I would vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. My dad and I used to frolic in the water and ride the waves. It was such an innocent time…This is a marvelous unisex scent.

Mario Badescu Seaweed Bubble Bath and Shower Gel, 8 ounces, $14.95 at Mario Badescu
This one is very similar to the Azulene one mentioned above. This clean-smelling, blue body wash is good for both men and women. However, the color of this one is a little lighter, the consistency is sudsier and bubblier, and the scent is a little more earthy and plant-like due to the seaweed in it.

Mario Badescu Coconut Body Soap, 8 ounces, $14.95 at Mario Badescu
It’s a beautiful pearlescent color and it’ll make you feel like you’re on the beach in Brazil, seeking refuge from the blazing hot sun under one of those magnificent palm trees, with the baby ones poking out of it, as you sip your cool and refreshing coconut juice.

It doesn’t need to cost a fortune to have luxury in a bottle. Because Mario Badescu carries a wide variety of scents in their body washes, there is something for everyone. From the choosiest of people to the most easygoing ones on your gift-giving list, the brand creates products that your friends and family are sure to love.
