Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in Illusive on my lips.

Integrity Botanicals and The Detox Market have become my go-to stores to buy and try clean beauty samples from high-end brands. Manasi 7 is a brand that I love and became familiar with in April on Integrity Botanicals’ website. I saw samples of their All Over Colour that can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips and immediately bought a few colors to try. The color Duras is a cool purple pink brown. While it looks great on the cheeks, I think it looks best on the eyelids. It has a pleasant vanilla scent. Here is the purchasing information for it: Manasi 7’s All Over Colour Duras Sample at Integrity Botanicals. After clicking on the aforementioned link, just be sure to choose the option that says Duras in the drop-down menu.

If you’re a woman of more substantial means and would like to buy the full size, you can do so here: Manasi 7’s All Over Colour, Duras, 5 g, $45 at Revolve.

I got a great deal on
Vapour Beauty’s Aura Multi-Stick for $17.09 on Credo’s website when the brand was going out of business and started slashing their prices in January. Like Manasi 7, the cream formulation of this is wonderful and I enjoy and appreciate how easy it is to use. After one too many powder eyeshadows and blushes have made way too much of a mess and were hell to clean up from crumbling in my make-up bag, most of my make-up products are now cream ones.

I have Vapour Beauty’s multi-stick in Dare, which is a beautiful burgundy color. Although it can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips, I’m not a fan of red eyeshadow. Thus, I just wear it on the cheeks and lips. It works and looks best on the cheeks and I use the dot-and-blend method on them. Because the bullet of this is a flat, wide, and circular one, it’s clunky, awkward, and difficult to apply to the lips, especially to my Cupid’s bow. Due to the jumbo size of the multi-stick gliding sloppily over and outside of my thin lip line and creating a Robert-Smith-from-the-Cure type of look, I have to go in after and fix it with my fingers or a Q-tip.

Like a lot of clean beauty products, there’s something in this that causes it to come on a bit patchy and it actually starts to come off the more you apply it. Therefore, you have to be patient with it. I don’t advise using this when you’re in a hurry and you need to get out the door fast. Although the dark red shade of the multi-stick is messy and gets all over the gorgeous light teal case, the organic sunflower oil in it smells fantastic and is very conditioning on the lips. I actually smack my lips together repeatedly whenever I wear this because the formulation feels so phenomenal. Being that this has 8.5 grams of product, you’ll have it for a while.

All in all, Vapour Beauty shutting down was a huge loss to the clean beauty industry. Had I known they’d be closing their doors, I would have stocked up on samples of their Lux Conditioning Tint and Lip Nectar. Not only did the brand have a marvelous range of colors, but they were consistent in creating high-quality products as well. There are inferior brands that are still on the market, mainly due to having better marketing skills, not necessarily better products or colors…Cough, ILIA. Here is the purchasing information for the multi-stick: Vapour Beauty’s Aura Multi-Stick, Dare, 8.5 g, $27.97 at Poshmark.

RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek sample in the shade Illusive is a spectacular pinky plum brown that is essentially a your-lips-but-better color, especially if you have paler skin like I do and your natural lip color is a purple one. My advice is to purchase the sample from The Detox Market. They give you a generous amount from the actual and regular size of the Lip2Cheek, whereas the one that RMS Beauty makes contains a paltry amount that’s so underwhelming and of such low quality that it’s impossible to tell if the color is right for you or not. It also seems like it’s discolored. The color is drastically different from the one I received from The Detox Market.

My only complaint is that the formulation of this product is a little too matte, rigid, and clay-like, causing it to be a bit of a challenge to apply to the lips. It can be purchased here: RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek Sample - Illusive. After clicking on the aforementioned link, be sure to scroll down a little and click on the circled question mark area that says Sample It. If you feel like RMS can do no wrong and would like to purchase the regular size, it is available here: RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek - Illusive, 4.82 g, $20 at Walmart.
