“Gotta get back in time.” Yep, that’s what Huey Lewis once sang. In this post, we gotta get back in time to discuss the makeup I wore in October. I’m really excited to share Manasi 7’s All Over Colour in Sisserou with you all. This wonderful dusty mauve color makes me smile and gives me flashback vibes to the early ‘80s when my late great older sister was a senior in high school and The Gap Band’s song, “You Dropped a Bomb on Me” was all the rage. The sophisticated light eggplant purple color was perfect and very fitting for the decade of excess. It’s no wonder it was so popular back then. My sister was easily one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever encountered in my life and I’m not just saying that because she’s family. She looked like a porcelain doll. Whenever she wore this classy purple shade on her lips, she’d pair it with an elegant silk high-necked blouse of a similar hue and you’d swear that she was a “high-society girl livin’ in a high-society world,” as Laid Back once sang. Rojizo is the next Manasi 7 All Over Colour that I’m going to discuss. Not only is it a newer color from the brand, but it’s also one of my favorites. It’s basically the cool pink brown you would get if you mixed their Furasato color, which is a neutral pink rose, with another one of their shades, Mangala (another one of my favorites), a deep burnt orange brown. Now on to my favorite make-up products—lip products. I came across Supergoop’s 100% Mineral SPF 30 Lipshade Hydrating Lipstick on Rainier Cramer’s wonderful channel on YouTube. Because I already have so much lipstick in my makeup collection, I was hesitant to splurge almost $20 on it. However, Love You More looked stunning on Rainier. It’s a beautiful raisin plum color. Although her skin is somewhat darker than mine, it brought out the warm undertones of her complexion and I knew it would do the same for me. Although it has a strong peppermint smell and taste, I don’t mind it. It’s essentially a balmy lipstick and the color payoff is worth the hefty price tag. I also like that it has a considerable amount of SPF in it, which is definitely new and different from most lipsticks on the market and it’s perfect for protecting your lips against the harsh rays of the sun during the warmer months. I have fond memories of wearing Kari Gran’s Lip Whip last winter when I was running errands. This has a moussy texture and a faint peppermint scent. Blush is a gorgeous sheer light peachy pink that makes a great lipstick topper for a dark shade that may need some toning down and/or some moisturization for a lipstick formulation that may be too drying. My Top 3 Miller Harris Perfumes

Like Delina, the rose in this is very heavy (You may want to avoid this scent if you’re under the weather. It’s very present.) and smells very sophisticated. There’s a tobacco-like note in it that rounds it out. It’s probably the oud. If I’m correct, and it is in fact the oud, then kudos to Miller Harris. They finally got the scent right. Bath & Body Works and Henri Bendel always got it wrong. Being that I’m a writer, I have a soft spot for the story behind the scent. Scherzo is inspired by an excerpt in F.
