Bath & Body Works Scents That Smell Like Dark Kiss

Luminous is a good but not great scent. It smells a lot like the brand’s popular Dark Kiss scent, which is a strong gourmand musky fruity floral that is ideally worn in the cooler months. If you love Dark Kiss, it can be purchased here: Bath & Body Works’ Dark Kiss Shower Gel, 10 oz, $12.03 at ebay (aka evilbay). The only difference is that Luminous has a heavy powdery note that rounds the scent out. I’m completely stumped as to what exactly this note is. While iris is described as a powdery scent, I’m used to it being more of the light, airy, cheerful, and playful spring floral that is present in Bath & Body Works’ Butterfly scent. Although amber can be a powdery scent, I’m accustomed to it being more of a woodsy and musky scent like the one found in the brand’s Sensual Amber scent. Therefore, this note is an absolute mystery to me. What I do know is that it smells like a more mature woman. Luminous is a frisky and cheeky woman in her 50s or 60s. She is essentially an older version of Dark Kiss. If that appeals to you, you can purchase it here: Bath & Body Works’ Luminous Body Wash, 10 oz, $19.49 at Walmart.

Bath & Body Works’ Everlasting Magic Shower Gel reminds me of a lighter and less cloying version of Dark Kiss. The musk is more toned-down here and the floral note is a softer one than the rose in Dark Kiss. There are subtle sparkles in this pretty clear plum shower gel. I get a jam-like smell from the berries in this. Although there’s no tobacco note in this, I get a smokiness that is reminiscent of their Smoked Berries & Incense candle that launched in 2014 as part of their winter and holiday collection. These were easily some of the best-smelling and most beautiful candles that Bath & Body Works had ever made. They were embossed in these gold Middle Eastern kind of designs on the elegant and main colors of the candles, such as turquoise for Topaz Waters, rust for Sparkling Amber, dark blue for Baltic Black Pearl, and burgundy for Smoked Berries & Incense. Here is the purchasing information for it: Bath & Body Works’ Everlasting Magic Shower Gel, 10 oz, $15.11 on Mercari.
