I have a confession to make: I love L’Occitane’s products, especially their body washes. Lathering them up with warm water and a bath sponge is a great way to unwind from a stressful or lousy day. Here are the L’Occitane body washes that you won’t be able to live without in your shower.

Terre de Lumiere Shower Gel, 8.4 fl. oz, $56.98 at Mercari: Oh, my word. I’m in love with this. This is a candied almond-smelling floral. The scent also reminds me of that tasty thick and rich Cream of Wheat my mom used to make me that was drenched in maple syrup. The sweet smell is pleasant and present, but not overbearing. The shower gel is a gorgeous translucent color with shimmery gold flecks. L’Occitane aptly describes it as Golden Hour—that beautiful time in the sky right before sunset. This is definitely worth splurging on—even if it’s just once.

Verbena Shower Gel, 8.4 fl. oz, $28.95 at L’Occitane: In spite of despising the color yellow, as well as the smell and taste of lemon, this turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The tangy scent is an uplifting one and it makes me feel relaxed and refreshed during and after my shower. The bottle is gorgeous with an engraved leaf and a cute silver snap-off cap. It’s also the perfect unisex scent.

Fleurs de Cerisier Happy Cherry Shower Gel, 8.4 fl. oz, $25.80 at Bonanza: Cherry Blossom has never been one of my favorite scents, partly due to the overpowering and cloying way that both The Body Shop and Bath & Body Works always make it. Therefore, this ended up being an unexpected treat. The wonderful scent is reminiscent of when I was a kid in the spring in the early 1980s. My family and I would check out the cherry blossoms on Sunday in Washington, DC. We’d then have dinner at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants.

The Vert Shower Gel, 8.4 fl. oz, $60.98 at ebay (aka evilbay): Where The Body Shop’s powdery version of Green Tea fails, L’Occitane’s rendition of the scent succeeds in capturing the crispness of the leaf. Moreover, it has a thick and silky texture. Finally, it’s ideal for both men and women.

These L’Occitane body washes are essential in creating a spa-in-your-bathroom kind of experience. They will leave you feeling calm and rejuvenated and ready to take on anything that comes your way.
